HEC Upward Bound Gives Back to the Community

Martiney Evans, Duh (Kevin) Thawng, and Farnella Young have signed up to be mentors at Oak Hill Elementary within the SLPS district. This program is pretty new, but our students are enjoying their time with the little ones.

These three assist in mentoring, life skills, "Friendship circle, Chess and other activities that are available for them to participate in. They have asked for volunteer service opportunities!

HEC Upward Bound not only supports student academically, but we high encourage students to get up and get out there and give back.

We are very proud of our students and can not wait for them to give us feedback at the end of the semester.

If any other students are interested please be sure to talk with Ms. Nolan about volunteer opportunties.
